Before you visit

Get the best laundry experience.

A little preparation helps your clothes wash cleaner, dry faster, and move through the store with fewer delays.

Quick reminder

Visit tips

Small habits that make laundry day easier.

Tip 1

Pick the right machine size

Clothes need space to tumble through water and airflow. If a washer or dryer is packed tight, detergent cannot circulate well and dryers take longer to finish. Use a larger machine for bedding, towels, family loads, and bulky items.

Bad: Overloaded

Better: Room to tumble

Clothes need space to move through water and airflow. If the drum is packed tight, choose a larger machine.

Tip 2

Go easy on detergent

More soap does not mean cleaner laundry. High-efficiency machines are designed to use less water and less detergent. Extra soap can create heavy suds, leave residue on clothes, and make the machine harder to rinse clean.

Bad: Too much soap

Better: Light suds

Heavy suds are a bad sign. A good wash uses enough detergent to clean, without filling the door with foam.

Tip 3

Plan payment before you arrive

DexterPay is the quickest way to start machines from your phone. Download the app and create your account before you visit, then use the WashFoundry location number posted in the store. If you prefer coin payment, bringing quarters can save time during busy periods.

Ready before you load

Set up DexterPay at home, or bring quarters if you plan to pay with coins.

Tip 4

Check pockets first

Small items can damage clothes, stain a load, or create machine problems. Check pockets before loading and remove loose items, pens, receipts, keys, clips, and anything that should not go through a wash or dry cycle.

Empty pockets

A quick pocket check helps protect your clothes and the machines.

Tip 5

Stay with your laundry

Staying nearby keeps your visit moving and helps other customers use available machines. DexterPay notifications can help you track cycle progress, but it is still best to return promptly when the washer or dryer finishes.

Keep cycles moving

Return when cycles finish so washers, dryers, and folding areas stay available.

Tip 6

Ask an attendant

If you are unsure which machine to use, how much detergent is enough, or how to start with DexterPay, ask an attendant during attendant hours. Getting help early can save time and prevent re-washing or extra drying.

Help is available

Ask during attendant hours if you need help choosing a machine or payment option.
